Ruco Chan's Secret Plan is to Open an Eye Glass Store

Yesterday Ruco Chan appeared at the grand opening of a dessert shop. He expressed the owner is a friend he "played with since childhood". The reason is because when he first debuted in the film industry, the owner was the first person who signed him, so he must be there to support him. Ruco was asked if he wants to be a boss of his own store too? He said: "I do have plans. Many friends have asked me to partner with them, but I want to concentrate on filming series. I don't want to be distracted." Ruco expressed if he does start his own business, he hopes to open an eye glass shop: "I want to be in the eye glass industry. Since childhood, I have always loved glasses, I feel people wearing glasses really have good taste and self-procession."

Ruco Chan & Elaine Yiu Enjoys Traveling Taiwan

Earlier Ruco Chan went to Taiwan to shoot a travel special with Elaine Yiu, Priscilla Wong and Jason Chan. He said: "Actually I enjoy traveling and eating around too. I hope to have this opportunity soon, but it's strange, many people like traveling to Europe. I actually like to go back to China, I think there are many beautiful places there. I hope we'll have a chance to film in a place where there aren't that many people around."

When speaking of Taiwanese girls are very gentle. Did he meet someone there? Ruco laughed: "I have a Taiwanese girl right next to me, Elaine! We had a tight schedule this time, so didn't get the chance to walk around." When speaking of his new series Slow Boat Home starts out with a good rating? He happily expressed everyone's hard work paid off. "I hope we can get a sequel. (Celebration?) If the rating increases by 1 point each week, we must celebrate!" Many artists have intentions to move up north for work? Ruco thinks differently: "I did get a few offers to shoot Mainland series, but I hope to shoot more HK series. Money is not the most important, I want to do my best on my own part first."

Ruco Chan Denies Fighting for Screen Time with Classmate Edwin Siu

Yesterday Ruco Chan and Priscilla Wong attended the "Fluffy House" Easter event. It was rumored while Ruco and Edwin Siu were filming TVB series Brother's Keeper, they were fighting for more screen time. It turns out the two are the same age and are classmates back in elementary school. They were rumored to have been competing from childhood until now. Ruco said: "Filming for that series has already completed, perhaps because we didn't have any rumors with the female leads, so there's rumors that we're on bad terms. I'm older than Edwin, it makes more sense for me to be his older brother, but I do envy that he has a lot more shows than me. I have never competed with him. I love playing ping-pong, but he likes soccer. Maybe we should do a sports competition one day."

This is the first time Ruco and Priscilla Wong attended an event as a 'couple team'. Priscilla thanked Ruco for bringing the opportunities to her: "He's a beautiful housewife killer. Unfortunately, I don't have the qualities to be one." Also, after shooting the daring travel show Pilgrimage of Hope (走過烽火大地), Tony Hung, will be partnering up with the experienced travel show host Priscilla Wong in a new travel show (走過浮華大地) -- they will be visiting places such as the United Kingdom and France.

Ruco Chan Pursuing Myolie Wu? Depends on Fate

Yesterday Myolie Wu, Ruco Chan and Jason Chan attended a fashion show. Myolie appeared dressed in a low-cut back revealing Harvey Nichols outfit. When she sat down to enjoy the fashion show, she almost exposed herself, but Myolie told everyone to relax because she done all the necessary safety measures. She said: "Super safe. I have never exposed myself before. Even if pictures get taken, there is nothing to see!"

There were a bunch of pimples seen on Myolie's forehead, she explained its a skin reaction from the hat she's wearing for TVB new series No Reserve (Rosy Business 3). Myolie praised Ruco and Jason are considered handsome men, but she had never collaborated with them before. She also expressed its been a long while since she had a vacation, so after she completes No Reserve, she'll be taking some time off. She hopes to go on a vacation to France with friends. Myolie said excitedly: "I like shopping for clothes and shoes. I'm a shoe addict, I own over a 100 pairs."

France is a romantic place, wouldn't it be a waste to go without a boyfriend? She said there's no other choice. Will she find a French boyfriend during her trip? She said: "That's good too, I can learn some French. I've never dated a French person before and if there is one, I won't resist."

Ruco was happy to hear Myolie complimented that he's handsome, he also hopes to collaborate with Myolie one day. He expressed: "Myolie really put int a lot of thought into this event and she kept a very good body figure. Myolie has portrayed a lawyer in series before, and so have I. We could try a lawyer series together." He modestly expressed he has no fashion sense, when asked if he'll find a girlfriend with fashion sense? He said: "That's good too." Reporters mentioned Myolie has sense in all aspects, she doesn't have a boyfriend now, will he consider pursuing her? Ruco smiled: "Huh? (You don't dare to pursue her?) I cannot say there won't be a possibility. Fate is hard to predict. Myolie has so many pursuers now."

Ruco Chan Careless About TV Ratings, Wants to Shoot a Good Science Fiction Series

TVB series Reality Check has been a low-rated series, but lead actor Ruco Chan supported the series has depth and the most important is the public response. Ruco loves trying new things, he hopes to participate in a science fiction series and already outlined a few scripts, but currently he'll just concentrate on being an actor first. Ruco's goal isn't to become TV King, he just hopes to shoot good series!

Recently TVB likes to use rape and 'skin revealing' scenes to boost the TV ratings, such as in Highs and Lows and Friendly Fire, both in which averaged 30 points. So far, throughout the Reality Check broadcast, the ratings had been quite low - dropping as low as 23 points. As the lead actor, Ruco does not feel defeated, but instead supported the series has a lot of depth. "Anybody likes to watch fun and explosive series because its entertainment worthy, but if we think about this series, it is actually reflecting the issues that happen in society. The success is not as important as the public response. As an artist, I hope to be part of a series with depth. (Audience has a bigger appetite?) Actually that is necessary, but TVB produces so many series, there is no way all series will be like this. Many people always criticize that we don't have enough educational shows, we have to cater to the tastes of all audience. Hong Kong audience take time to warm up, especially those who are used to something, it is not easy to just change. However, don't just withdraw from something just because the public doesn't agree to it. It's okay to keep on conveying the reality."

Wish to Shoot a Science Fiction Series

Ruco expressed he loves trying new things. Aside from his wish that his series has a message to convey, he also hopes to shoot more science fiction themed series, such as a 'Chinese vampire' ("geung see") series. "Nowadays, there are no longer series like A Chinese Ghost Story. The themes are too realistic. I believe we could produce some fantasy series that goes beyond reality. One of my wishes is to participate in one of these. (Do you want to shoot a series involving politics?) I also want to do something political, but have to see if the theme works or not. Actually, I already have 2-3 scripts on hand. (Turn to work behind-the-scenes?) I like it, but that's too far for me to think about. At present time, I still have a lot to learn and try as an actor."

Creativity is the Most Important

Ruco is an ATV turned TVB actor, he directly said he has more space than before, "Because a bigger company has better resources. There are a lot more audience watching and I get a lot more feedback. Then I know where I'm lacking and the areas still need improvement. (Want to compete for TV King?) I don't think about that stuff nor do I have a desire to become TV King. Even in the past when I was an athlete, I never thought of winning. I just do my best on my own part, prepare myself well and naturally I'm a winner. If I lose then so be it and if I win, then it's an honor. (Your goal is not to win an award?) My goal is not here. If you are a creative person, then you are not concerned about the awards. It's just like Tsui Hark and Ann Hui, (film directors) they aren't producing films because they want awards. What I have on my mind when filming is, to reflect or convey something. If the award lands in my hands, then I'll take it."

Kate Tsui & Ruco Chan Cheated through 10km Marathon; HKTV Artists Jogged the Whole Way

TVB, HKTV, CRHK and other individual artists signed up to participate in a marathon yesterday. Although TVB sent out over 40 artists, only half of them were really jogging, the other half faked it. Kate Tsui, Ruco Chan, Sai Sai Lap (May Chan), Jerry Koo and Priscilla Wong just did the jogging for an hour and was done with it. Ricky Wong's HKTV sent out 20 artists and jogged the whole 10km. The artists included Noel Leung, Leila Tong, Yuen Wah, Kwok Fung and Catherine Chau. There were massaging and buffet services as well. Hilary Tsui and Annie Liu were fully prepared to face the challenge. They jogged for 58 minutes and 1 hour and 5 minutes respectively. They each broke their individual records from last year.

Kate and Ruco did not seem dressed appropriately for the occasion. Kate was dressed in black leather pants, while Ruco had jeans on. They explained because they still have to go to work after the marathon. Asked if they feared that people will say they only have the posture and not the actual practice? Kate said: "I tried my best. I have a supportive heart. I got out of bed at 2am and got here at 5am." She claimed her health isn't good, she was afraid participating in this 10km marathon, she still wouldn't finish if she walked for 2 hours. "To avoid embarrassment, if I jogged until I ran out of breath, that would be embarrassing." When asked if she's helping TVB counter HKTV? Kate said: "How am I qualified? After all, TVB told me to come."

This is the first marathon 200 pound Sai Sai Lap participates in. She laughed: "I've never really do exercise. The majority of my exercise is napping. Actually, this isn't considered a really long run, just along the East District's slanted highway , but it still feels like a long run. I'm so tired. This is already enough challenge for me." She laughed, next year she'll consider actually participating in the competition: "Exercise is good. If I can't jog, I can walk. The organizers will supply water and bananas. 10km, I can eat 10 bananas."

The 10km Marathon Results

Linda Chung & Ruco Chan dressed in 90s costumes for new series "Big Wheel"

Yesterday Linda Chung, Ruco Chan, Edwin Siu, Kristal Tin, Louis Yuen and Louise Lee attended TVB new series Big Wheel (巨輪) costume fitting. Because the story happens in the 90s, the artists went back in time and had the look of the 90s. Linda expressed her personality still revolves around the 90s and she occasionally watched TV series during that period. She has profound memories of this time period and is confident she can handle her character. In the series, Linda is romantically linked with Ruco, she frankly expressed this is her first collaborate with him and believes they'll be able to set off new sparks. She reveals they will have intimate scenes as well. Also, Linda is very happy to be sisters with her good friend Leanne Li: "We are basically very close friends, so there is no acting involved."

Linda discloses TVB is going to produce a 2013 calendar and she has collaborated with Raymond Lam three times in the last 5 years, Bosco Wong two times. Each time, they are on the month of January together. Reporters asked if this represents she's the 'First Sister'? She expressed she still has a long way to go before she can be First Sister. When speaking of last year at the anniversary awards, she was a hot favorite for 'My Favorite TV Female Character Award', but she didn't win, does she have confidence this year? Linda said last year she had the greatest opportunity to win, but still lost. She doesn't dare to put her hopes up too high, just let nature take its course. Last year, she did indeed think, for a moment, that she was going to get the award, but she ended up losing and accepted the fact calmly.

As for Ruco Chan, his look resembles 'Wah Dee', but he didn't want the audience to focus only on his costume, he hopes there will be a balance. When asked if he's excited for the intimate scenes with Linda? He played dumb: "I didn't know, but that's good. She is a person that can get people moved." Ruco exposed in advance that he also has intimate scenes with Ankie Beilke, "It's a little more than a kiss scene. (Bed scene?) I don't know yet." Edwin Siu plays Ruco's younger brother, he envied him for having so many girls, "I only have Kristal Tin!" The cast will be shooting in Macau later.

Priscilla Wong's TVB series with Ruco Chan feels like she won first prize

Ruco Chan, Priscilla Wong, Louise Lee and Leung Ka Kei attended the costume fitting for TVB new series Heart of Road GPS[. In the series, Ruco plays a director and will pair up with Priscilla, who stars in her first TV series, as an assistant director. Priscilla worked as a program presenter at iCable and recently joined TVB. In her debut series, Priscilla will get quite a bit of screen time because earlier, TVB executive Catherine Tsang expressed she would get a role who has more than one line. Priscilla laughed: "It feels like I won first prize!" Then Ruco added: "You are my first prize!"

Recently, Ruco frequently gets appointed to lead the newcomers, he said: "When shooting The Other Truth, Tavia Yeung and the others were leading me for a long time. (You're considered Tavia's senior!) Tavia won many awards and got recognition from the audience." During the time, Ruco asked Priscilla with interest: "Have you watched my series when you were young?" Priscilla played along: "In the past few years I've been always watching you." She reveals her good friend Leung Ka Kei told her shooting series is really exhausting, she said: "She told me to bring my pajamas to the set, so I could sleep there!" Ruco gave advice as her senior: "When you think of each and everything as a challenge, then it won't be exhausting anymore!"

Ruco Chan makes it clear, its impossible to date Selena Li

Selena Li, Ruco Chan and Lee Yee Man had their end-of-filming celebration in Cheung Chau for the new TVB series Love Exceeds the Coastline they collaborated on. TVB executive deputy chairman, Dr. Norman Leung, made a special trip to visit them. Norman also hosted an eight table banquet at a hotel treating the cast and crew seafood and celebrated Ram Chiang and Cilla Lok's birthdays. The local residents were welcomed into the banquet as well.

Selena, Ruco and Lee Yee Man were rumored in a love triangle after shooting series, but Selena admitted to defeat. She said the rumor started because she randomly sat in Ruco's seat, but then she praised Ruco that he's clever and professional. On the other hand, Ruco was rather embarrassed and made it clear that it is impossible for him to develop a relationship with Selena or Lee Yee Man. He said: "It's me that is not good, I believe they can find better boyfriends."

Norman expressed he paid for the banquet all because of Selena's one comment. He said: "I made a special trip back to HK from Mainland. I've lived in Cheung Chau for 18 years, aside from this place being my ancestral hometown, Cheung Chau is my second home and gives me a good feeling. Earlier I heard Selena say she's shooting Cheung Chau, but never tried the fish balls and seafood here, so I volunteered to host this feast." Selena blushed when her colleagues all thanked her for the seafood feast, and felt the real person they should thank was Dr. Norman Leung.

Ruco Chan suggests stripping to celebrate high ratings

Ruco Chan, Natalie Tong, Louis Yuen, Q Bobo and the rest of the cast of TVB new series No Good Either Way gathered to enjoy the series premiere. Aside from singing the theme song, in the series Ruco, Louis and Q Bobo goes on a topless run on the streets. When asked how they'll celebrate if there are high ratings? Ruco said: "I have a topless scene in the series, and we're always stripping, just like The Full Monty, doing a reality show. Louis lost 10 pounds for the series, and is very fit, but Q Bobo will first have shave off his hair." It was rumored Ruco and Alice Chan already had a grudge back when they were still with ATV, and are still on bad-terms after joining TVB? Ruco denied: "As soon as the series came out, there are news. We are not on bad-terms at all." He expressed he and Alice collaborated before in ATV: "Earlier she wasn't in HK after she got married, so we rarely see each other or talk. In the past, we were always on the phone, and now I see her more at the company. I just laughed off the rumor."

The other night, Natalie fell ill and lost her voice. Currently shooting new series Detective Columbo, she will have to first just shoot the lighter scenes to avoid affecting her recovery. She is actively looking for a treatment: "I've been sick for several weeks and not recovering. This time, my role is always crying, screaming and getting beat. It is the most difficult role that I've done so far. I don't want to hold everyone up. I plan to ask Tavia Yeung for advice on how to treat voice lost." She frankly expressed she has been too into character and is feeling down. "I feel really down after reading the script and just feel unhappy. When I'm at work, I can't speak and have a black face. My family is frightened."

It was exposed that when Natalie was shooting her mad crying scenes, she had the same 'long snot' coming out as Stephen Chow in King of Comedy. Natalie said awkwardly: "So ugly! No one told me about the snot. If I knew earlier, I would definitely ask to shoot the scene again. I'm afraid when the series airs, people will just pay attention to the snot and think it's a comedy."

Kristal Tin worried Ruco Chan won't be able to find a wife like her

Yesterday Kristal Tin, Ruco Chan and Natalie Tong attended TVB new series No Good Either Way's promotional event. In the series, Kristal and Ruco play a married couple, Kristal laughed and said her role is kind-hearted and worships her husband. She said she was just being herself and placed her real life into the role. Ruco didn't say she was hard to bear, but Kristal is actually worried he won't be able to find another wife like her. Kristal reveals her husband Chapman To's condition has recovered 90% and he'll be resuming work mid-July. Tomorrow, she and her husband will be heading to the US to celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary and take two week lessons on Buddhist seclusion. Is she worried Chapman might get the '7 year itch'? She joked her husband often gets itchy on different areas, so she'll have to seal off his whole body to be able to stop his itches.

Although Ruco isn't married yet, he still felt very comfortable playing a married couple with Kristal. He joked he's also worried he can't find a wife as good as Kristal. He reveals there were unavoidable bed scenes with Kristal, but those scenes were just limited to sitting and chatting on the bed. Asked if he and rumored girlfriend Eunis Yiu are only chat-limited too? "In acting, my girlfriends are always changing, but in reality, I have a girlfriend too!"

Ruco Chan and Louis Yuen running and losing their towels

A few days ago, Louis Yuen, Ruco Chan and Gill Singh (Q Bobo) were shooting for TVB new series CHOK Family in Kowloon City. The scene was about the three men in the sauna room, but was suddenly chased by a group of gangsters. Consequently, the three ran out of the room and into the alley with nothing but towels wrapped around their waist. While they were running, Ruco and Louis accidentally lost their towels and revealed the swim trunks underneath.

However, Ruco did not mind at all and expressed this is his second time collaborating with Louis. When asked if he worked out before the shoot? He said: "Nope, I initially wanted to do pull-ups, but didn't have time. (Is appearing topless your limit?) Nope, if I encounter a good script, I don't mind revealing my behind! However, with the TV series scale, it can't be done. (Do you want to shoot films?) I want to do everything, just have to see if its necessary for the script. However, revealing as extreme as Kai Ko is too much. I just feel its better to stop before overdoing it."

Louis is currently maintaining a diet, where he only eats 1 meal of starchy foods a day. When speaking of his sexy appearance while in his swim trunks? He laughed: "Because the director said he fears I'll expose what's underneath, so he told me to wear the smallest size. (Is that true material?) Huh? I don't understand, don't really know how to answer you. (Very bulging?) The director just told me I have to wear the smallest size, but the smallest pair I have are these, so I just wore them! (Is this your first time running on the streets naked?) I really haven't done it before. I have done it when shooting in the studio, so when I first heard about this scene, I was a little worried myself. I told the director not to make us run on the big and busy streets!"
