Show Luo: Vivian Chow was my dream girl

Taiwanese artiste Show Luo wrapped up four gigs at the Hong Kong Coliseum with much aplomb over the weekend. His series of concerts featured a glitzy line-up of Hong Kong stars such as Jimmy Lin, Alex To, and ‘90s screen sweetheart Vivian Chow.

Well known for her ladylike image, Vivian was the guest performer for the his third show where he confessed that the singer-actress was his dream girl during his teenage days.

“When Vivian released her first album in Taiwan in 1992, I fantasised that she was my girlfriend and pasted her photos all over my room,” the 33-year-old admitted.

According to media reports, Show was too shy to maintain eye contact with Vivian throughout their rehearsal sessions. He turned green with envy when his assistant and the make-up artists took turns to take photos with the star, and exclaimed, “Great! All of you are ignoring my existence!”

Besides presenting his “dream girl” with a stalk of rose during the concert, Show teasingly attempted to give Vivian a peck on her hands, but ended up kissing his own hand instead.

He was taken aback when Vivian offered a hug after performing the duet ‘Love Expert’. The startled star, who hurriedly wiped off his sweat as he went forth to claim his hug, morphed into fanboy and collapsed on the floor afterwards.

The “Asian Dance King” brought laughter to the arena when he held Vivian’s hands and gave a shout-out to his mother. He hollered, “This is the first time I’m bringing you [Vivian] to meet my mum.”

Show Luo to sue Yan Li for defamation

After being spotted with a female contestant from "Do You Remember" at a hotel in China, Taiwanese singer Show Luo was rumored to have cosplayed in the hotel room with the lady, which led the enraged singer vowing to sue against the false accusations.

In late May, while Show was in China to participate in the recording for "Do You Remember," he was reportedly seen interacting closely with a female contestant, Yan Li. Thereafter, they were spotted on a date in the hotel that Show was staying in. The 32-year-old's manager had since refuted the speculations and the report has been removed.

However, another Chinese media interviewed Yan Li recently and the lady claimed that she cosplayed with Show in his hotel room for their date. She revealed that the singer loves to cosplay and would bring a female student uniform whenever he goes out and so she dressed up as a male student for their date.

Yan Li then praised Show for being able to cheer a girl up but denied that they were dating, and expressed that they are friends who only met once.

Upon hearing the news on Wednesday, Show was reportedly fuming and claimed that he does not know Yan Li and could not fathom why she would lie about their relationship. He also expressed that the false reports are beyond what he can stand and his management will sue the related parties.

Show's manager confirmed the singer's claims and shared that the management is in talks with their lawyers and will use legal means to take action against both the media and Yan Li for defamation.

Show Luo spotted with new girl at a hotel

Taiwanese singer Show Luo's manager claimed that reports of the singer allegedly meeting a female guest at his hotel in China is inaccurate and false.

Yesterday, a Chinese media reported that on May 28, Show attended a recording of "Do You Remember" in Zhejiang and was seen going on a date with a lady at the hotel he was staying in after the recording.

The report claimed a lady was brought up to Show's hotel room by the singer's crew shortly after he was done with recording. The lady reportedly left the hotel the next morning and Show, together with his crew, headed to the airport after she left.

The article named Yan Li, a fellow participant of "Do You Remember", as the Japanese lady that met with Show. Yan Li was seen having close interactions with Show during the recording and he praised her for being pretty to which she returned the gesture and praised him for being friendly and handsome.

Show's manager refuted the reports and claimed that the lady is "from Fujian, China" and "not Japanese".

"She came to participate in the competition but as soon as the media took photos of her entering the hotel, they starting spinning tales about it," said the manager who further emphasized that "it is a false report."

Yan Li had also responded to the rumours on her microblog. She clarified that she "only took part in the show to see Show as I am his fan," and added that the report was inaccurate.

Show Luo apologizes to Anthony Wong

After being insulted by self-professed Jay Chou fans, who described Show Luo's action of kissing his mother a form of "incest", Jay's godfather and Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong, asked on his microblog earlier last week, "Who is Show Luo?" which led to backlash from the singer's fans.

The actor later corrected his post by claiming to know Xiao Zhu (Show's nickname) but not the name "Show Luo" which did little to appease the fans.

At an endorsement event yesterday, Show expressed his apologies to the veteran actor twice, saying that "it is only normal that he does not know who I am. I have yet to act in any movies before." The 32-year-old added that he "hope that the fans will calm down."
He expressed that if his fans have been rude to the actor, "I will apologize to him on the fans' behalf."

Following Show's apology, Anthony wrote on his microblog yesterday claiming that he does not have fans, and does not need fans. "What I have are friends and everyone is on equal grounds, I don't need people worshipping me," the actor expressed.

In other related news, Show also sternly expressed that "everyone can scold me, point their middle fingers at me, but cannot attack my mother." The singer added that he only has his mother left and "if I can't even protect my mother, I'll be very disappointed."
In contrast to Show's agitated responses, his mother witty reply tickled the singer when she expressed that "if such a big fuss was made just because of a kiss, didn't these people get breastfed when they are younger?"

Video of Show Luo flaring up circulated online

How would you respond if vulgarities were hurled at you when you step off a plane?

Singer Show Luo flared up and charged angrily at three to four men who pointed their middle fingers at him and called him names, after he arrived at the airport in Shanghai. The singer shouted, 'Come over here, what are you pointing at?'. The confrontation was caught on camera and a part of the footage was circulated on the Internet.

The men involved are believed to be Jay Chou's fans. After Show kissed his mother at his concert, netizens, speculated to be Jay's fans, dubbed his action incestuous and called him names, leading to the two singers' fans to have a heated clash online.

Show's manager expressed that the uploaded clip painted a bad picture of Show as it did not show the entire incident. He added that Show decided to let the matter rest after the guys apologised to him.

As the 32-year-old arrived in Shanghai on the same flight as Jay, it was once again suspected that Jay's fans were behind the incident.

Responding to this speculation, the singer expressed that he 'believes that it's not done by Jay's fans as Jay's fans have integrity.'

Show also expressed that should there be any criticism, 'please only direct them to me. Please do not insult my mother, that's my bottom-line. Please put yourself in my shoes.' The singer then ended his response with an apology, hoping that the issue will die down soon.

The singer's manager had also expressed that Show and Jay had boarded the same car at Shanghai airport and that there was no grudge between the pair.

Jay's management commented that they believe that 'it is not done by Jay's fans as Jay's fans are very kind.' They also expressed their wish for fans of both singers to quit fighting.

Show Luo soldiers on with work despite illness

Album sales of Taiwanese singer Show Luo, also dubbed the Asian King of Dance, had been doing well in recent years.

The singer made his debut in the Japanese music industry with a new Japanese single Dante, a month ago on Feb 15. The single entered the Japanese Oricon Top 10 Chart on the first week of its release, and has sold up to 25,000 copies today.

At a promotional activity for this Japanese single yesterday, the 34-year-old singer let on that he was down with a terrible cold and burst an artery in his eye due to the coughing fits.

Despite his illness, Show insisted on carrying out a LIVE performance to thank his fans -- and a group of 30 Japanese fans who travelled to the country to show their support -- for bracing the 14-degrees rainy weather to attend the event at Ximending, Taiwan. He also specially went down stage to shake their hands.

Show also shared his thoughts about the recent promotional tour in Japan and let on that he had screamed because he was so happy, as it was his first time seeing his own poster on the streets of Japan.

Show added that when he saw his music video playing in Shibuya, he ran around happily and shouted at the top of his voice.

The singer also revealed that he had fulfilled one of his wishes by recording a Japanese single, and has finished recording his next Japanese single.
