Male fan rejects a hug from Girls’ Generation’s Jessica on ‘Guerilla Date’

On January 12th, the ladies of Girls’ Generation appeared on the “Guerilla Date” segment of KBS2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘.

Just like all the other Guerilla Dates, the ladies walked on the streets of Hongdae with a large crowd following them. Four of the members including YoonA, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, and Taeyeon were sent on a special guerilla team mission and the other 5 members remained with the crowd.

After this, three male fans were picked out of the crowd and asked to select their favorite members. One guy picked Jessica, the other picked Seohyun, and the last picked Sunny which caused Yuri and Tiffany to hug each other for not getting picked.

The male fan who selected Jessica then played a special word game with the 5 members and after this game Jessica gave the male fan an autographed ‘I Got A Boy‘ album and a handshake. However, what caught the attention of netizens and fans alike was what came afterwards when Jessica went in for a hug. When Jessica attempted to hug the male fan, he quickly took a step back and rejected her, his reasoning being that he has a girlfriend. The other four members burst out in laughter and the MC stated this is the first time such a thing has occurred on the show. Tiffany was quick to defend Jessica, telling the male fan that this is not something you do to precious Jessica. However Jessica stated it is understandable because he has a girlfriend and the members laughed once again.

Pitching Gaffe by Jessica of Girls' Generation Goes Viral

Girls' Generation member Jessica has captured the limelight recently, not with her performance on-stage but rather due to her gaffe on the baseball field.

She was invited to throw the first pitch at a professional baseball game between LG Twins and Samsung Lions last Friday, and turned up sporting a uniform with her name on it, skinny jeans, pink sneakers and a baseball glove with pink feathers.

Jessica wound up her pitch with a perfect pose and looked set to hurl a fastball. However, she ended up accidentally dumping the ball on the ground immediately in front of her, drawing laughter from the fans while she cringed with embarrassment.

As videos of her throw went viral online, one commentator on American sports outlet Sports Grid said, "This incredible example of how not to throw out the ceremonial first pitch comes to us from South Korea."

Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and Lee Dong Wook dating rumors gain steam

On April 3, local media Dispatch released paparazzi photos of Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and actor Lee Dong Wook together at comedian Jung Joon Ha’s birthday party. The photos taken on March 18 show the co-stars of KBS drama “Wild Romance” sitting next to each other at a separate table, almost looking like a couple in love.

After the photos were posted online, the Jessica-Lee Dong Wook dating rumors gained steam again, prompting the two stars to address the issue. Lee Dong Wook’s agency, King Kong Entertainment, told Sports Seoul, “They became good friends through their drama and met for the first time in a while (at the birthday party). They are not dating or in a serious relationship. In fact, they didn’t go to the party together, but they went separately and just happened to meet there.”

They continued, “The party invited a lot of guests, and we believe the two joined the same table by chance, just as good friends.”

SM Entertainment also told Sports Seoul, “She was invited to Jung Joon Ha’s birthday party and Lee Dong Wook just happened to be there, so they sat at the same table,” urging the fans not to take it out of context.
