As fans might know, T-ara has a rotating leader system. Several members have filled the coveted position over the years, taking turns as the head of the popular girl group.

Qri will be replacing Soyeon, who will be stepping down after one and a half years in the captain's chair.

"Qri will be the new leader of T-ara beginning in the next round of promotions," Core Contents Media stated. Her first stage as leader came yesterday at the Tokyo Budokan, where she greeted thousands of fans and promised to take good care of the group.

Dani to take Ahreum's place in T-ara N4

With Ahreum leaving both T-ara and T-ara N4, Dani will be taking her place in the "Countryside Life" subunit.

Since T-ara will be promoting only with its original members, Dani won't be joining the actual group - she'll just be promoting with Eunjung, Hyomin, and Jiyeon as a member of T-ara N4.

Since Dani's fluent in English, this may help the girls during their American promotions when their English album is released. Dani will also be promoting as a T-ara N4 member in Korea as well.

Ahreum leaving T-ara for solo debut

Ahreum has been confirmed to be leaving T-ara to pursue a solo career.

After joining T-ara as the 8th member last July, she debuted with "Day by Day" and was also active with T-ara N4 for their "Countryside Life" promotions, but it seems her run with T-ara has come to a quick end.

In a video posted to T-ara's official fan cafe, Ahreum said, "There's a new update. It looks like I'll be seeing you all as a solo artist. Don't forget T-ara's Ahreum. Thank you for giving me so much love. I felt so much love at the fan meeting and while promoting with T-ara. In the future, I'll be meeting you all with an image that's a few thousand times better than the Ahreum you saw in 'Countryside Life'. The time I had with the unnis will be a fond memory, but Ahreum will most likely be returning solo. Still, the unnis will continue to be active, so don't forget them and don't forget Ahreum either. Ahreum fighting and T-ara fighting. Thank you so much for loving Ahreum until now. Please don't ever forget the songs or performance I had with T-ara. I miss you. I love you."

The agency stated that the reasons Ahreum is becoming a solo artist are so she could focus on hip hop, which she's always been interested in, as well as to give her the chance to pursue other activities like acting.

T-ara will now be promoting with the six original members - Q-ri, Boram, Soyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin, and Jiyeon. Core Contents Media is also currently deciding whether to replace Ahreum with Dani, who fans were also introduced to last year as an upcoming member, in T-ara N4.

Rude treatment of T-ara N4 at the Palms Pool shocks fans

It seems like the mediocre response to T-ara N4's stage at the Las Vegas Palms Pool wasn't the only problem they had to deal with.

Originally, Core Contents Media had claimed that the video that had surfaced was their first performance and that Chris Brown had come on to their second performance and introduced them (you can check the video out here). But now a new video of another performance has surfaced where the girls were cut off rather rudely by Chris Brown.

The girls had been performing to their song, but suddenly Chris Brown cut in, demanding that the DJ cut the music off to promote his new song, saying, "My new single featuring Aaliyah is called 'They Don't Know'," and continued to talk as the girls looked on, confused.

He only started the music again once he was done, and once the music came back on, it started at the cut off point, making the girls scramble back to their places.

When the girls were done (again cut off prematurely), someone even shouted, "Boo, get off the stage!".

T-ara’s Eunjung reveals a story of being left behind at a rest stop in Japan

Eunjung recently revealed a funny story about the time she got left behind in a rest stop in Japan.

Eunjung and the other members of T-ara are currently in Japan promoting their “Bunny Style” in 15 different cities across Japan traversing both urban and rural areas.

After taking a pitstop at one of the service stations with the T-ara members and staff, they realized that they had left Eunjung behind around 15 minutes after leaving. Eunjung stayed at the rest stop for an hour, waiting for the car to return, but instead of being angry she stated that she found it to be a nice rest during their hectic and busy schedule. While she was waiting, she also experienced over 3 meters of snow that fell, a rare sight in Korea.

She even took the above picture in the snow to commemorate the funny story.

T-ara turns down coveted alcohol commercial deal

Girl group T-ara is said to have turned down an endorsement deal with an alcohol brand, a coveted commercial deal in the entertainment industry.

Aside from Ahreum, T-ara’s youngest member (with the exception of Dani, who will join the group later), all of the members of T-ara are legally adults in Korea. However, as a big girl group in Korea, T-ara has apparently turned down this offer.

Their agency Core Contents Media stated, “We believed that having the girls appear in an alcohol-related commercial is not fitting, for the dancing, singing, fashion, and actions of idol stars are highly mimicked by the teenagers of Korea, and thus, we have turned down the offer.”

They further added, “[T-ara] will not be appearing in commercials that condone drinking culture to teenagers in the future as well.”

T-ara releases handwritten apology letter to fans

The members of T-ara, who have been going through a rough time due to rumors of alleged bullying involving former member Hwayoung, released a handwritten apology letter to fans on their official website on August 29 KST.

The contents are as follows:

“We’ve written this after a lot of thought. The past month has felt much longer than our trainee days and the days we’ve promoted receiving our fans’ love. First of all, we sincerely apologize for causing concern and disappointing so many people. We feel that it was very foolish of us to not have resolved differences of opinion between the members and to have aired our personal issues in a public space. We’re reflecting deeply on our actions.”

“We sincerely apologize for acting thoughtlessly. We’ve been troubled every day by the thought that all of this could’ve been avoided if we had understood each other and compromised more and if we had acted more maturely. When we look back, we all worked hard together for the same dream and overcame obstacles, and it was really painful to see all the good times we’ve had together being cast in a negative light.”

T-ara also had a message concerning Hwayoung as well: “We also think that Hwayoung has been going through a very hard time after being misunderstood as [ostracized]. We were surprised by the outcome, which no one thought of or wanted, and we’re disappointed that we can’t all be together now. We only hope that Hwayoung will no longer face [hurtful things like this].”

The letter went on, “We apologize to everyone for causing concern with this recent issue and disappointing those who’ve loved our music. We feel that this hard time has been a lesson for us. We’re supposed to give people strength, and we’ve now learned how much responsibility is on our shoulders. We’ve also realized that we must act responsibly and seriously.”

“For our parents who live for us, for our fans who’ve continued to stay by our side, for the people who listen to our music… and for those who we’ve worried and disappointed, we’ll work harder to receive your forgiveness instead of being frustrated. We genuinely apologize. We also hope that you give your support and love to Hwayoung, who must be having a harder time than we are. We too will always support Hwayoung. From all of T-ara.”

Hwayoung speaks on the controversy surrounding herself and T-ara

After keeping her silence for nearly a month, T-ara‘s former member, Hwayoung, has tweeted in response to the controversy and the way the situation has been unfolding.

Hwayoung wrote,

“Having come across articles about Eunjung unni’s leave from her drama, my heart felt uneasy. It is true that there were confrontations due to differences in opinions with the T-ara members while I was promoting as part of T-ara. However, with the stories about bullying going around and the situation growing worse, my heart was in pain. Both sides have also been really upset and hurt by the distorted facts [that have come out].

However, there were times when I was happy while we were all under one roof, so I want to forget about the past and want us to cheer each other on with smiles on our faces. You all showed so much love, care, and attention to T-ara, so I’m very sorry for having caused concern and worry through this incident to everyone.”

T-ara‘s Soyeon has reportedly been involved in a car accident and has been sent to the emergency room.

While traveling down to Busan on August 13th at approximately 7:00 AM for the shooting of her drama ‘Haeundae Lovers‘, her vehicle slipped on the rainy road and hit the guard rail twice before flipping on its side.

Other than Soyeon, two stylists were passengers in the vehicle. All passengers were taken to the emergency room and underwent CT and X-ray scans.

“Due to the sudden rain, the car must have slipped. The managers are now hurrying to the scene of the incident,” said a representative for Core Contents Media. “Since the car has flipped over, this incident seems bigger than we anticipated. The 119 response team responded at the scene and transported everyone to the emergency room.”

“Thankfully, Soyeon seems to have suffered no big injuries on the outside. But since this is an accident first of all, her filming schedule for today has been cancelled and will undergo a full test,” the agency concluded.

Advertisers begin to pull T-ara after controversy

The advertisement industry is starting to feel the effects of T-ara‘s controversy, as many of the brands the girls are endorsing have begun to strip the girls’ image from their stores.

Many of the brands have reported that they are currently receiving hundreds of calls and requests on their official homepages from fans claiming that they will be boycotting their products should they continue to use T-ara as their endorsement models.

‘Tony Moly‘, a cosmetics brand the girls are currently endorsing, has even gone as far as to publicly claim that they will not be signing the girls again. A representative stated, “T-ara’s contract ends at the end of August. We were in the midst of negotiating a new contract, but now that this controversy has happened, we will not be signing them on again.”

Other fans have actually visited the stores to express their boycott, causing stores to take down all of their T-ara posters from the walls.

Outdoor clothing brand ‘Wild Rose‘ still has eight months left with the girls. Representatives stated, “There is still time left with their contract, but because this is such a sensitive issue, we will be working with T-ara’s company to figure out what to do next.”

Other brands the girls are working with have been showing similar sentiments.

Although T-ara‘s new member was revealed just recently, Dani has already been receiving love calls for advertisements before her official debut.

On May 31st, T-ara’s agency revealed, “T-ara’s new member Dani has been receiving love calls from cosmetics companies that amount to an enormous sum of about 200 million won (around $170,000 USD).”

Dani was revealed to the public on the 30th and has been attracting much attention with her visuals as she stands at a height of 167 cm. Dani relayed through her agency that, “I was dazed and amazed as my name rose up in the online real-time search rankings, and I am even happier that I received love calls from cosmetic advertisers.”

She also revealed more about T-ara’s recent activity as she stated, “Recently, the T-ara unnies are working hard in learning the choreography. I politely declined the love call.”

Despite being only 14 years old, Dani’s appearance and skills combined resembles that of someone much older. She will officially join T-ara’s activities in December.

T-ara has unveiled their new member, Dani!

Dani turns 14 this year and was raised in the States since she was four years old. Despite her young age, she stands at a height of 167 cm with stunning looks that people have compared to the likes of Olivia Hussey.

Although she looks cute upon first glance, there is said to be an inner charisma to her style that makes her all the more charming.

As previously revealed, T-ara will begin promotions with their eighth member starting July 7th. Dani will join the group in December as the ninth member. She will, however, be starring in the group’s upcoming music video as an actress in the meantime.

The reason for the delay in Dani’s joining is because she wants to practice more and join when she feels she is completely ready so as to not bring any harm to the group’s way.

T-ara releases “Round and Round” MV

T-ara has released a new music video for their remake of old-school singer Nami‘s “Round and Round“.

The track was originally released in August of 2011 as an intended follow-up to “Roly Poly“, but “Cry Cry” was chosen in favor of the 80s remake. ”Round and Round” is now being included in a project album called ‘Sonata 2012: 33 Songs Selected by T-ara – High School Days‘.

The album will feature 33 tracks selected by T-ara, including songs by Davichi, Jo Sung Mo, SG Wannabe, Nam Gyuri, Yangpa, and the members of T-ara themselves. It’s planned for release on May 23 KST.

T-ara releases breathtaking photos from Milano

The seven ladies of T-ara recently traveled to Italy’s scenic Milano (Milan) for a well-deserved break after what has been their busiest rounds of promotions yet. The girls also traveled alongside with an upcoming Core Contents Media girl group in order to show their support for the group’s photo shoot.

The released photos feature T-ara in front of the extravagant Milan Cathedral, posing elegantly against the romantic urban scenery. The members themselves will also be taking the role as photographers and will be continually sharing personal photos and the like to document their stay in Italy.

Meanwhile, Core Contents Media’s upcoming girl group will be compromised of seven members: Hwang Ji Hyeon, Choi Soo Eun, Lee Hae In, Kim Hye Ji, So Min, Jo Eun Byul and Esther. Prior to their debut date, the girls will be showing their individual colors through a series of 7 teasers, as well as a music video directed by Cha Eun Taek, famed in the K-Pop industry for directing BoA’s iconic Eat You Up video.

T-ara’s Eunjung robbed of 23,000 Euros in Italy

T-ara‘s Eunjung has been robbed of a staggering, 23,000 Euros (~ $30,078 USD) while in Italy.

During T-ara’s stay in Italy, Eunjung was put in charge of managing the budget for T-ara and Core Content Media‘s new seven-member girl group.

It has been reported that on April 12th at 5PM, Central European Time, the group took a short break during their photo shoot at a cathedral square in Milano. At this time, Eunjung went to purchase some coffee when she was robbed, losing her handbag to a thief. Although 23,000 Euros were lost from the unfortunate incident, the members’ passports were kept by a different staff member, which is a huge relief.

Regarding the accident, Eunjung expressed grief and sadly stated, “I’m so sorry to T-ara and the other seven members. I will reimburse the money when I return to South Korea.” Meanwhile the other members expressed, “She did her best as our guide. She was robbed while she was working hard, so it’s ok.”

Eunjung also expressed her gratitude to her fellow members who comforted her after the accident, stating, “We were able to successfully complete the filming due to the other members who stood by and comforted me.”

However, one staff member revealed what happened behind the scenes. “After the filming was finished, Eunjung went back to the hotel and cried all night,” he stated.

The April 2nd episode of Nihon TV‘s “Bakusho Show Battle!” featured a parody of T-ara‘s Japanese “Roly Poly” music video.

Instead of a group of old men, a group of older female comedians decided to participate in the parody. The video was well done with the ladies wearing the same costumes performing on the same stage with similar choreography.

T-ara volunteers and meets with disabled children

Despite their busy schedule, T-ara recently took some time to volunteer again, this time for the welfare facility of Seoul Main Customs.

On March 22nd, all seven members of T-ara attended and helped pot plants with disabled children, assisted the dentists with dental activities, assisted with the meals, and even fed some of the children.

T-ara reflected on their day and shared their thoughts saying, “Thanks to the children who warmly greeted us, we were able to enjoy and have another great volunteering experience. We hope to continue to be of a neighbor to these people and will work harder to become “volunteer-dol” T-ara.”
