Kevin Cheng to Produce TV Series, Hopes to Work With Kenneth, Wayne & Myolie
Currently filming in Mainland, Kevin accepted [Mingpao Weekly] exclusive interview and expressed: "Of course when I learned about the Forbes China rankings, I was very happy and surprised. After all it is a form of recognition. As one of the representatives in the TV industry, I am happy to have such accomplishment."
Earning so much money, is Kevin saving up for marriage? "I established my own work studio, so I have to save up in order to start shooting TV series. In my first project, I'll be part of the cast, but I need to have attractive and strong artists to participate too. This will require quite a bit on my budget." According to a source, Kevin hopes to get his good friends to participate in his first TV series. Kevin laughed: "It's all still in the works. I've been searching for a good script before and still working hard now. It is really not that simple being a producer. You have to invest a lot of time and energy into it, so in June when I complete the series I'm filming now, I will be concentrated on getting my first TV series up and running. On the side, I'll be recording for my new album as well. I do indeed have ideas, I want to collaborate with my good friends in this debut project, such as Wayne Lai whom I had always admired, but we had never really encountered before; Kenneth Ma, we had very good sparks in A Fistful of Stances; Myolie Wu and Cecilia Liu, I've worked with them on Ghetto Justice and Startling by Each Step respectively. We established good chemistry from those collaborations. It will be fun and entertaining to work with good friends." Is Kevin going to be launching his new album this year? "When I go back to HK, I hope to finish recording my songs and there are some other jobs I have scheduled. So, the earliest I could be back to shoot a TVB series will be early next year."

Kevin Cheng works 16 hours a day
According to Jayne Stars website, Kevin, who is paid as much as RMB35,000 per episode, is speculated to earn approximately RMB14 million for his starring role in the fantasy drama. However, his decision to join the cast of "Hua Xu Yin" also means that he has to rush and finish the production in May, as the sequel to his mainland drama, "Ip Man" will begin shooting the next month.
An insider revealed, "Kevin told the director that he didn't mind working on a laborious schedule as long as production finishes by the end of May.
He told the crew that the schedule rundown didn't have to accommodate him too much." The actor was also reported to have spent over RMB40,000 from his own pocket money to hire a driver and a recreational van to bring him to the set every day.
He is said to have made the van his "portable home" for him to rest and eat a quick lunch every single day, taking no longer than 20 minutes for every break.
Meanwhile, rumour has it that TVB executive, Virginia Lok has been busy planning for Kevin's return to TVB at the end of the year. The actor has been notified not to take on any mainland projects by the end of the year in order to make room for his TVB schedule.

Kevin Cheng & Nancy Wu Exposes Myolie Wu Has a New Pursuer
Kevin Cheng, Myolie Wu, Linda Chung and Raymond Lam appeared at the airport today for their departure to Korea. Then after the show, Myolie and Kevin are going back to Mainland to continue filming. Kevin said he knows Myolie has a pursuer. Myolie said: "Just a pursuer, not successful yet." Nancy Wu attended an event and revealed: "Myolie has a pursuer now, he's someone outside of the industry I told her not to worry so much about work and enjoy it."
At the show in Korea, Kevin will perform a Mandarin song, while Linda and Myolie will perform English songs. When asked why aren't they don't rehearse Korean songs? They said: "Leave the Korean songs for Korean singers. This show is airing during the Lunar New Year, the songs are sung to Chinese people, therefore its better for them to understand the language." Kevin expressed he won't be dancing, that he will leave for Raymond Lam.
When speaking of Ekin Cheng and Yoyo Mung's surprising marriage, Kevin said this is the couple's personal choice and he congratulates them. However, when asked about his own love life, Kevin said: "Not getting anywhere." He revealed he's currently busy shooting series and only gets half a day off on Lunar New Year. He took this opportunity to clarify the rumor of his withdrawal from Startling By Each Step 2, he said: "Before when I asked the crew, it wasn't confirmed that I will be in it, so later I accepted other jobs. Unexpectedly, it was later said that I would be part of the cast. It is a timing issue that I couldn't be in it. However, if there is an opportunity, I hope to guest star."
As for Linda, she collaborated with Ekin in a series before and disclosed Ekin's his 'See Fu'. She was very excited to hear that he got married and praised he and Yoyo are a match from heaven. She hopes the couple will have a baby soon: "When I saw the report on them before, they said they're not planning on having children, but I hope that's not true. Ekin's handsome and Yoyo's beautiful, they will definitely make a beautiful and behaved baby!"
Raymond had a large group of fans waiting for him at the airport. About Ekin and Yoyo's marriage, Raymond was really surprised and disclosed he had always referred Yoyo as his elder sister. He said: "I asked her before when they're getting married, but her didn't answer me. However, I do wish them to be together forever and I hope they'll hold a wedding party in HK. If not, we should get together for dinner at least." Asked when he plans to get married? He said he will copy Ekin, and announce after the fact: "After all, marriage is between two people. Just have to celebrate with family of both sides. (What about you and Karena Ng BB?) I need to concentrate on making more money now, work is my priority."

Kevin Cheng will produce his own dramas
Popular Asians website reported that with the opening of his own production studio in China, the 43-year-old actor has revealed his true ambition to be a producer.
The actor expressed, "I invested real money in it. I have confidence in my production studio. Based on the current situation, the risk is almost zero. I hope to have a win-win situation, winning on word-of-mouth and on ratings".
Earlier in the week, Hong Kong director Lee Lik Chi slammed the actor for not being good enough to command a high remuneration in China. However, Kevin did not refute Lee's statement, only saying that he had declined Lee's drama after reading his script.
Kevin said, "Now that I am studying scripts myself, I realised that script writing is very complicated. I have changed the script over and over again. The script has evolved into many versions and I am currently selecting it".
The actor is also planning on launching his music album and revealed that he is in the midst of recording songs. The album in expected to launch before the end of this year.

Is Kevin Cheng losing status in TVB?
Kevin, who has spent most of his time filming dramas in China recently, has been nominated for Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in Gloves Come Off.
However, rumour has it that TVB's high level management has internally decided to ban Kevin from winning top honours for the second consecutive time this year.
An insider revealed TVB's management initially selected Kevin to be the most suitable actor for its upcoming period drama, Cold Mountain Hidden Dragon, scheduled to air in 2013. However, the actor was reluctant and rejected the role immediately as soon as he was informed that former rumoured girlfriend, Charmaine Sheh would be casted as the female lead.
TVB's high level management was reportedly furious with him and had to restructure the entire story plot; Kevin's fellow colleague, Kenneth Ma was offered the role of male lead eventually.
Following Kevin's rejection of the role, the management reportedly reduced his TVB assignments as he was missing from the new dramas that were introduced at the TVB Sales Presentation 2013 last month.
Charmaine was unaware about the rumour on Kevin and commented that "all the details for her new TVB drama in 2013 have not been finalised yet".

Kevin Cheng Earns Enough, No Fear of "Filling Shoes" for People
Earlier Kevin had an injury near his eye from shooting Mainland TV series Ip Man and had over 10 stitches. Yesterday, Kevin didn't have any noticeable scars, he said its not as noticeable because of the makeup. Also, there are no repercussions of the injury. He believes injuries are inevitable when shooting action films. When speaking of this year's TV King battle, Kevin is ready to lose: "I'm just there to help because this year I only had a month in HK. I don't dare to ask audience to vote for me. There is a good chance Wayne Lai may get it again." Asked about Ben Wong's anger towards TVB for giving him no nomination? Kevin said: "Hard efforts are not recognized every time. I had the same experience before. We're 20 years of good buddies, there is no need to comfort him."
Ella Koon spoke about the recent mistreatment of her dog, last week someone attacked her dog at the garden. She expressed next week her dog can remove the stitches, but he was critically wounded. She is currently planning to move "I hope the attacker will put down his knife and bring his conscience back out."

Kevin Cheng Gets 10 Stitches On his Eye

Virgina Lok appeared at the Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital to handle the paperwork for admitting Kevin into the hospital. She said: "I got a call and learned of Kevin's injury. He's a little frustrated, perhaps because he's in a lot of pain and has to come back to HK alone." Because of the accident, Kevin loses over a million HKD worth of canceled jobs.
Yesterday at 1pm, Kevin was wearing an eye patch and sunglasses as a white car pulled up to the hospital to pick him up. When reporters asked about the accident and what exactly happened? He did not respond. Kevin later accepted an interview over the phone, "I got 10 stitches, the doctor said he used a very thin thread for the stitches and the scar should be very small. That's why I had to get more stitches. I think by next week, when my eye stops swelling, I can start working again. There will bound to be accidents in filming, luckily filming for the series is almost complete. I'm in a hurry, I want to go back and finish it up. (Worried you might be disfigured?) Can't worry or think too much. It has already happened, just got to deal with the circumstances!" Virgina expressed Kevin did not have to do a resurfacing surgery, but will have to go in for a followup visit next week to remove the stitches. Good friend Ben Wong accompanied Kevin to the hospital, he expressed Kevin is doing fine and is still handsome despite the 10 stitches.

Kevin Cheng Severe Eye Injury from filming, Rushes Back to HK for Surgery

Yesterday afternoon, the producer of Ip Man was notified that an accident occurred while Kevin was shooting a fighting scene. He injured his the corner of his right eye and it was not a minor injury. He suggested that Kevin immediately go to Shanghai for treatment at the hospital or go back to HK. The photos of Kevin's accident was sent to Virgina Lok for consultation, the doctor in HK recommended that he get the injury treated in Shanghai first, and then come back to HK for follow-up treatments. However, Kevin wanted the doctors in HK to treat him instead, so the crew immediately bought an air ticket for his return. When Kevin landed in HK, he was rushed to the hospital immediately for surgery and may need to get stitches.
Ip Man's producer explained the situation: "Earlier when Kevin Cheng was first invited to take part in this drama, he loved the script, but was hesitant to accept it because he had been working nonstop for 20 months. He was worried he won't be able to physically handle it. Now, filming of Ip Man is wrapping up, there is only ten days left and the fighting scenes are the main focus within these ten days. I believe he truly is exhausted, that's why this accident happened." The producer expressed when Kevin got hurt, it was like a bolt from the blue and the crew stopped filming immediately. The health of each and every one of the actors are important. "Artists rely on their face to make a living and the injury this time is on his face, that is heartbreaking to me. We all feel heartbroken." Although Kevin was injured, he still insisted to continue and finish the scene first.
TVB executive Virgina Lok was asked how serious Kevin's injury was? She said: "I still haven't gotten the details yet, I just know it's not a minor injury. We have already made arrangements for him to be back in HK for treatment. (Worried Kevin might get a scar?) He's a little unhappy, but he's a man, it's no problem. However, he has a lot of other things to worry about because he has to attend an event tomorrow, but now we will have to see how to resolve it."
Ip Man's lead actress, Chrissie Chau, was very shocked when she learned her partner was hurt, "I already completed my scenes. I just got back to HK a few days ago, I'm very worried about Kevin's condition, hope he gets better soon."

Myolie Wu, Kevin Cheng, Moses Chan, Wayne Lai on November of TVB Calendar
Kevin had a very red right eye, but he couldn't remember how he injured it. When reporters mentioned rumored girlfriend Charmaine Sheh is in the studio next door? Kevin laughed: "Someone told me already. I don't mind going over to greet her."
This is Wayne's first time being part of the TVB calendar, he said: "Actually it's not necessary just the TVB 'biological sons' that can be on the calendar, there are some that came from other places too. It depends on the promotions and momentum of that year."
Moses praised its a good thing that TVB is making a calendar again. "If your participating in the photo shoot, then it represents you are valued by the company. I am more than willing to be on the calendar for life." When asked if he wants to be on the same month as girlfriend Aimee Chan? He said: "I don't care what kind of arrangement there is, doesn't matter!"

Kevin Cheng as Ip Man hopes he won't be compared to Donnie Yen
When the event organizers showed the trailer, Kevin was seen with powerful momentum standing by the wooden stump, in a long white gown. However, Kevin expressed he cannot be compared to Donnie Yen, "Of course films are a lot more exquisite than TV series. Also, Donnie is initially a good fighter, I started from zero, but I believe the outcome is going to be pretty good!" In regards to Cecilia took initiative trying to get to know him, Kevin said there is no such thing: "Giving food is nothing unusual. I will also buy her foods too. Each day after I finish shooting, I have to rehearse the fighting scenes, so I have no time at all. We rarely communicated and don't keep in touch outside of filming." When asked if there were any females that knocked on his door? Kevin laughed: "Ghost? There's ghost in Kunshan? Of course not!" He also expressed he never thought shooting this series would be more difficult than Burning Flames III.
As there is currently protests in Suzhou? Kevin said: "I rarely go out, I believe its not an issue. I hope for less civil unrest, otherwise people will laugh at us. We should be facing problems in a gentle manner. Just boycotting Japanese goods is already causing great harm to Japan!"
Chrissie expressed she never thought she had a naked back scene on the first day of work: "The scene was about me trying to motivate myself to get back on my feet because I had a leg injury. Fortunately it was just revealing my back, nothing special to see. Of course, the set was cleared, so not too embarrassing." She also expressed she was very nervous when she had to do a passionate kiss scene with Kevin.

Niki Chow & Christine Kuo fight to be "Mrs. Kevin Cheng"
It was understood, because of Christine's good looks, nice body shape and her Western personality, many TVB male artists like her. However, Kevin is also one of the seun poons (best deal) in TVB City and a TV King. Kevin and Christine got more and more familiar after shooting Ghetto Justice II and love sparked from the kiss scene.
An insider reveals, Kevin and Christine's relationship grew rapidly, but they didn't want to make it public yet, so they've been in an underground relationship all along. Kevin Cheng is Ip Man in Mainland's TV series version
Initially after Kevin completed 3 Mainland series earlier this year, for the rest of the year, he was planning to focus entirely on recording for his new album. However, because he saw the Ip Man TV series script, he really liked it. Also the salary was 280,000 RMB per episode, which is higher compared to his previous paychecks, and it is estimated his income will end up with 7 million RMB, so he was unable to resist the 'temptation'. He decided to participate in this series. In the past several days, Kevin have been actively recording and once he finishes working on his album, he's going to focus on Mainland's Ip Man, which had already started shooting on July 31st. However, Kevin won't be joining the crew until next week.

Kevin Cheng adds his own scene, slaps 'Law Yau' Myolie Wu's butt
Kevin revealed it was his idea to slap Myolie's butt: "Well the scum stuff is on me. She's my girlfriend, I'm Law Ba and the neighbors call her 'Law Yau', so this scene is pretty funny!" He expressed he has great expectations for the sequel, but he's not sure if the Olympics will affect the ratings.
When speaking of the nonstop kiss scenes, Myolie and Kevin both expressed because they're already a couple in the sequel, so it's reasonable. Myolie said: "I was a little nervous in the first season (part 1), but now that we're more familiar, we have a lot more chemistry. There is even a feeling like we're newly weds, this time the kiss scenes get very hot. (Sparks?) He's like a brother to me!"
Asked if she's afraid boyfriend Bosco Wong might get jealous? Myolie said: "Nope! We're just filming! I'm actually afraid Kevin's fans might get jealous, he's so popular. (A couple team with Kevin?) I am very confident this time, but I want to be a wild couple!" She reveals they create new sparks in the sequel because Christine Kuo gets in between them as the third party. In one scene, Christine got too agitated that there was a car flipping accident too.

Myolie Wu, Kevin Cheng, Michael Tse's TVB series nominated on 7th Seoul TV Awards
After learning Lives of Omission made it on the nominations, Michael said: "I haven't got the notice yet, never thought we'll be in the nominations, very shocked and surprised. Of course I'm happy, and plan to go have Korean food to celebrate. The nomination proves that HK series are attractive and language isn't an issue. The most important is the quality."
TV Queen Myolie Wu scored 'double' with Curse of the Royal Harem and Ghetto Justice and following Charmaine Sheh, she may even snag the Most Popular HK Actress Award too. She said: "With two series, the chances are higher and I hope to get the award too. However, I don't dare to put my hopes up too high because I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. I hope to visit Seoul too, haven't been to Korea in a long time and want to see the Korean fans. In the next few days, I'll be heading over to Beijing to attend the Hua Ding awards, competing for the Best Actress award. I have okay confidence, my opponents are strong!"

Kevin Cheng denies accompanying his ex, Linda Wong, for an abortion
To avoid affecting Linda, Kevin frankly expressed he already told Linda of the rumor: "I told her to call her husband and get the lay the foundation back. Some things, I cannot control, so what's important now is to face the issue. But, Linda and her husband have mutual trust for each other! Linda said having children is fate, if she doesn't have any, then she doesn't have any." Kevin said he does not mind his past relationship with Linda being brought up again, each individual has their own past and memories. For him, these memories are very precious.

Nancy Wu and Kenny Wong supports Kevin Cheng not pretending to be Big Brother
Kenny denied that Kevin was trying to pretend to be the Big Brother: "Why would he be older than me? I am older. When we were shooting the boxing scenes, we both had suggestions and opinions to share. I had suggestions too and perhaps there is some misunderstanding there." He expressed they often joke around and are in good terms. He has also never heard of anyone cussing out someone, the most rough language used was : "You bad boy, hit so hard."
Nancy also didn't believe Kevin was pretending to be a Big Brother. Instead, she greatly praised Kevin for becoming more open in the recent years and isn't as cool as before. "Perhaps there are some scenes is gets really agitated, and that caused the misunderstanding. Kevin has become more open in the recent years, often joking with us all. He even smiles more often now." It was rumored Sin Ying Ho [and Gregory Lee's father Sing Yeh] said Kevin was pretending to be a Big Brother, Nancy does not believe Master Sin would say such thing.
Nancy praised the attractive 5-seater new model. It was said a 5-seater is not enough for her 7 rumored boyfriends. Nancy laughed: "Just shove the other two in the back trunk. In fact, among the 7 rumored boyfriends, only Deep Ng and Kenneth Ma were true!"
