Heung Heung: "We're Grinding Tofu", Didn't Know the Term Meant 'Lesbians'

Eliza Sam (Heung Heung), Christine Kuo, Samantha Ko, Lily Ho, Grace Wong, Priscilla Wong and many other TVB young FaDans were at dance rehearsal for their performance at the TVB Anniversary Gala. The girls were split into four "season" groups - spring, autumn, summer and winter. Christine, Lily, Samantha, Lily and Whitney Hui were in the summer group, so they'll probably be dressed sexily for their performance.

Samantha Covers Eliza's Mouth

When taking pictures, Heung Heung was in a very excited mood. She was jumpy as she said: "We're grinding tofu now!" (TN: "mo dau fu" - grinding tofu means lesbians in Cantonese). It appeared Heung Heung did not realize she just said something wrong until Samantha went to cover her mouth immediately. Then Samantha whispered in her ear explaining the meaning of "mo dau fu". Heung Heung then shouted: "Oh! I didn't know!" She laughed and asked reporters not to report about this, or if they really have to, don't write it so badly. Reporters asked Samantha if she explained to Heung Heung what the term meant? She said: "I said to her it means lesbians messing around."

Considers Hiring a Translator

During the interview, Heung Heung explained their dance routine is like grinding tofu, and she personally didn't know what the term "grinding tofu" meant. She said embarrassed: "I just learned the term. (Luckily this wasn't live.) So, on the day its live, I won't be speaking at all." Reporters suggested she hire a translator, Heung Heung said: "I'm still thinking. I've been so busy lately, I want to find someone to help me translate the script. I hope to find a girl to do it. (You won't have to pay if you find a guy.) Don't say that."

Later, Christine rushed to the rehearsal, when asked if she knows the meaning of the term "grinding tofu"? She foolishly said: "I don't know, never heard of this." Reporters then told her about Heung Heung's embarrassing moment, Christine said: "I think she didn't what it was. We are very innocent. The term isn't used in Canada. Once someone says 'grinding tofu', we really do think its grinding tofu!"
