Elva Hsiao’s love life comes under close scrutiny

Elva Hsiao’s love life has come under close scrutiny ever since the video of her ‘surprise proposal’ went viral on the Internet.

It is not the first time Elva has been linked to Malaysian tycoon Liu Dezu, who was seen proposing to her in the video.

On Sept 28 last year, a mysterious advertisement appeared in a newspaper, proclaiming undying love for the singer. It expressed, “Dear Elva, without you, I’d be a soul without a purpose. Just one smile from you would make my whole world bright (sic)”.

The declaration was attributed to a man with the initials L.S., raising speculation that it was made by Liu Dezu.

Netizens have pointed out that the L in “L.S” could refer to Dezu’s surname, but he is said to have told his friends that he had “never posted a love declaration”.

According to netizens, a New York Post report last February stated that Elva had attended a glitzy post-Grammys party in Los Angeles, hosted by Dezu who rubs shoulders with Hollywood’s A-listers.

On the rumours, Elva’s management has expressed, “Overseas media may also base (their reports) on hearsay; there really isn’t anything of that sort (going on).”

Kai Ko, who has been romantically linked to Elva, was asked for his opinion on the matter but his management has declined comment, saying that they will not comment on “(our) artiste’s private life”.
