Jang Geun Suk gifts ‘Love Rain’ staff and cast with gift certificates totaling $31,000

Actor Jang Geun Suk thanked the 120 ‘Love Rain‘ staff members by giving them gift certificates worth a total of $31,000 USD.

A representative from ‘Love Rain’ informed OSEN on June 11th, “Commemorating the end of ‘Love Rain’, Jang Geun Suk presented the 120 staff members with gift certificates worth $256 each.”

“He wanted to give something special to the staff members who worked really hard,” the representative continued. “Though the drama wasn’t a huge success, he felt the teamwork [amongst the staff] was stronger than any other project he participated in. It was his way of expressing his gratitude towards the staff members who helped create a lively atmosphere on set during the time they spent filming.”

The representative added, “This is not common, for an actor to present such a generous gift. The amount itself is pretty impressive, but he decided on mall gift certificates after spending time contemplating what would serve as a meaningful gift. That’s so like him.”

In related news, Jang Geun Suk will be embarking on his 2012 Asia Tour ‘THE CRI SHOW 2‘ starting with a performance in Seoul this July and traveling to Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Shanghai, Taiwan, Thailand, and more. Jang Geun Suk to release his first full length album in Japan

Actor Jang Geun Suk will release his first full-length album, ‘Just Crazy‘, in Japan on May 30. The album has already recorded 130,000 unit sales through pre-order, and has taken 1st place on Japan Tower Record’s online sales.

A track titled “200 miles” from the album has been chosen as the opening theme on a famous Japanese animation called ‘Fairy Tail‘ as well, once again showing the popularity of “Geun Jjang” in Japan. The album’s title song is “Crazy Crazy Crazy“.

His song “Let me cry“, which was released last April and climbed to number one on Oricon charts, the song “Bye Bye Bye“, which was used as a CM song for Seoul Makguli, and “Rain” will all be included in the new album.

‘Just Crazy’ will also include “In My Dream”, which he wrote while he toured Japan and held concerts last year, including one at the Tokyo Dome. His first album will include 11 songs in total, and for the first time ever, three versions will be released: a restricted version, a non-restricted version, and a fan club version.

Jang Geun Suk’s tour, the ‘2012 Jang Geun Suk Asia Tour – The Cri Show 2‘, starts in July. He will have a concert in Seoul, tour four cities in Japan (Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Hokaido), and then move onto Shanghai, Taiwan, Thailand as well as four other Southeast Asian countries.

Jang Geun Suk involved in a car accident

Hallyu star Jang Geun Suk has reportedly been involved in a car accident in Gyeonggi-do Yeoju. The accident took place while the actor and his manager were on their way to Seoul after filming ‘Love Rain‘ at Mangsang Beach in Kangwon-do.

The car his manager was driving had hit a guard rail and the cause of the accident is said to have been due to his manager dozing off at the wheel. Fortunately, the actor was not seriously injured but has sustained bruises and is complaining of body aches.

A representative of his agency, Tree J Company, stated, “Jang Geun Suk was transferred to a hospital in Yeoju. However, he did not suffer from any external injuries and because he had another schedule for that morning, Jang Geun Suk has returned to the filming location.”

The actor is planning on receiving a thorough examination after concluding his filming for ‘Love Rain’.
