Kai Ko confesses his love for Elva Hsiao

After numerous denials of a romantic relationship and multiple we-are-just-good-friends claims, Taiwanese actor Kai Ko has finally declared - for the first time - his love for Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao during an interview in Here Comes Kang Xi.

Kai Ko told hosts Kevin Tsai and Dee Hsu that his friendship with Elva deepened after a game of mahjong.

When Kevin asked if Elva was the love of his life, the 21-year-old smiled shyly, "Of all the girls that I know, I like [Elva] very much!"

Kai Ko commented there are "no barriers" between them despite their 12-year age gap. He would call Elva by name while the latter would call him "Kai Kai".

He admitted going on holidays with Elva, accompanied by a group of friends. During their trip to Bali, the pair sat beside each other on the flight and fell asleep together, but Kai Ko emphasised that they "did not share the same blanket".

Dee questioned Kai eagerly if he had the urge to kiss his girlfriend while she was asleep, who then blushed immediately afterwards. "She [Elva] looked cute, but I won't kiss her."

Kai also commented that Elva looks beautiful even without makeup, and has a domineering look after makeup.

Kai Ko prepares for brain surgery

The Taiwanese actor-singer had a sports themed birthday party with close friends, including rumoured beau, Elva Hsiao. Elva, who had attended the party decked in a cheerleading outfit, had prepared a three-tier cake for the festivities.

Accompanied by his mother, Kai headed to the hospital in preparation for a surgery to remove a brain tumour. He was dressed simply, choosing to don a cap and mask. Upon reaching the hospital, he waited briefly in the lobby before taking the elevator to his VIP room.

After he was admitted, Kai posted photos of himself on his micro-blog accompanied by the cheerful message "Going in for maintenance! When I'm out, I'll become stronger and more awesome! I'm thankful for everyone's well wishes and I'll see you soon!'

Kai has previously mentioned that he was not worried about the surgery, but felt a little nervous.
When interviewed, his representative shared, "Depending on the situation, (Kai) may be discharged from hospital on the day of the operation if all goes well." He also thanked the fans for their support and care.

Kai Ko denies Macau date with Elva Hsiao

After winning Best Chinese Movie award at the recent Hong Kong Film Awards, the cast of The Apple of my Eye returned to Taiwan in triumph.

Upon his return, the movie's lead actor Kai Ko was again quizzed on his relationship with Elva Hsiao. Kai strongly denied that he is in a relationship with Elva. The actor claimed that he had nothing to hide and from the photographs, it was clear that the pair was not holding hands.

When asked if he would still date in the vicinity of the National Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum , he replied, "Yes, that is a public place."
So will Kai celebrate the win with Elva?
"Maybe," was the answer from the actor.

Director Gidden Ko's kiss with Kai on stage at the awards ceremony had also caused an uproar among the netizens. When Elva was asked to comment on the kiss, she responded humorously, "I give them my blessings!"

Meanwhile, in response to rumours that Kai and Elva were on a date in Macau on Apr 13, the singer's manager revealed, "She returned to Taiwan on Apr 12 and was busy recording and rehearsing. Her passport will be able to prove that." Kai's manager had also replied, "Only the two of us went (to Macau)."
