Hong Kong actress Shirley Yeung recently shared news of her baby girl Krystal's arrival on her microblog last month. While many speculated that the child's father is Shirley's boyfriend and Chinese national diver Eric Wu, the actress remained tight-lipped, and did not respond to said speculations.
Lately, it was rumoured that Shirley plans to return to Hong Kong with her daughter in hopes of reconciling with actor Gregory Lee, her ex-boyfriend of nine years.
According to insider, Shirley got to know Eric through her mother. The actress did not think of breaking up with Gregory initially, but after she found out she was pregnant, she had to make a decision.
It later turned out Eric, a Chinese national, chalked up a pile of rental debts while living in Hong Kong and borrowed money from members of his diving team and family. Shirley's mother then realised she had chosen the wrong man for her daughter and hoped for Eric to treat her right, since the actress was already pregnant with his child.
Last October, when Shirley left for America to concentrate on her pregnancy, Eric still visited his girlfriend from time to time. However, as her delivery date drew near, the diver's visits became less frequent. He called the actress and told her it was inconvenient for him to visit her and asked Shirley to take good care of herself; he went missing in action after the call.
It was said that after knowing what kind of a person Eric was, Shirley's mother began to change her perception of Gregory, and urged her daughter to reconcile with the actor by "preying on his weakness".
Shirley is set to return to Hong Kong with her daughter this month, and will begin work thereafter. It was said that the actress could not forget her ex-boyfriend and that the pair still contact each other through text messages.
"Shirley still loves Gregory, or else they wouldn't be together for nine years. She really understands him. If she was to cry and kneel in front of him with her baby, Gregory is sure to have a change of heart," an insider let on.
