Wong Jing to produce a TVB series starring Deanie Ip

The free-to-air TV licenses are delayed time after time. It was said the government won't be issuing the licenses to CTI, nowTV and iCable until mid 2013, so the big TV competition will not happen until next year. CTI is preparing to use Police Boundaries starring Dominic Lam and Liu Kai Chi as their first series to kickoff the new TV station and nowTV invited golden producer Lau Kar Ho to produce a series starring Charmaine Sheh. Facing such strong competition, TVB invited Wong Jing back to make a grand production for them and even invited Venice Film Queen Deanie Ip as the lead actress.

Since Wong Jing left his maternal home (TVB), he had a very successful development in the film scene and even if former TVB boss Mona Fong invited him back to be their executive producer several times, he did not budge. It wasn't until his old classmate Chan Kwok Keung took over TVB, that he was willing to come back and produce a 40 episode modern series for them. The lead actress is expected to be film queen Deanie Ip; Wong Jing also hopes to cast Mainland newcomer Kimmy Tong, TVB Siu Sang Kenneth Ma and Hawick Lau, who recently got popular in Mainland. It was said Deanie Ip's per-episode salary will be HK$250,000.

Wong Jing's TVB series revolving around family revenge

Yesterday reporters contacted Wong Jin to confirm. He admitted that he'll be helping TVB produce a series: "Yes, TVB invested into my company to shoot a series revolving around family drama and revenge. I asked her (Deanie) to play the head of the household role and Kimmy Tong will be her adopted daughter. Kenneth Ma and Hawick Lau are candidates I have in mind as well. I already did preliminary discussions with Deanie. We're still in the process of preparing this production. I'll talk more about it when things are more mature!" Kimmy Tong is a 21 year old new generation Mainland goddess that Wong Jing has been promoting. He is very supportive of this young woman, earlier she was casted in Tycoon (大上海) alongside Chow Yun Fat. This time, Wong Jing plans to cast her again as Deanie Ip's daughter.

CTI hopes for a smooth start next year, the current plan is to start the TV station off with Dominic Lam and Liu Kai Chi's new series Police Boundaries. CTI's spokesperson (Jessie) said yesterday: "We are expecting to start the station next year, and hope to produce even more high quality programs for viewers to choose. We just completed two series and next month two more series will start."

nowTV to counterattack using Charmaine Sheh

nowTV recently recruited former TVB golden producers Miu Siu Ching and her husband Lau Kar Ho to their company. nowTV has already put out an order for Lau Kar Ho to produce a grand production starring Charmaine Sheh to counterattack the other TV stations. Yesterday Lau Kar Ho said: "We're still in the stage of drafting the script now. Because it's a joint collaboration, we have to wait for the script to be delivered to us from Mainland before we can officially start shooting. The candidates to be casted in this series has not been set yet, but Charmaine is a good actress, of course I don't rule out the chances that she may take part in this production!"
